A & B Septic Service

FAQs

 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What should I do if I see my septic tank full when I open the lid?

A: The level should be 8-10 inches from the lid's opening for a properly functioning septic system. If it's higher, contact us immediately, and we'll check it out!

Q: When can I expect your drivers after scheduling an appointment?

A: It's hard to predict an exact time due to our work's unpredictable nature. We want you to know that we aim to reach you as soon as possible during our open hours, from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Q: What can I safely flush down the toilet with a septic system?

A: Stick to the basics: only flush the 3 P's – Pee, Poo, and 1 Ply Paper. Avoid flushing anything else for optimal septic system performance.

Q: Are there specific products I can use to maintain my septic system's functionality?

A: We advise against flushing chemicals or cleaners down your toilet or directly into your septic system, as these can kill off the good bacteria growth and potentially cause more harm than good.

Q: Can I plant vegetation around my septic tank or drain field?

A: Planting trees or plants near these areas can lead to root intrusion, causing significant damage. To prevent issues, we advise avoiding planting within a 10 ft radius around your tank and drain field. Trees should be planted as far from the tank and drain field as possible. Those roots will always find their way! Grass, however, is a safe choice!

Q: How do I determine the location of my septic tank and drain field?

A: Since each location varies, we have the necessary equipment to help you pinpoint the exact location of your system! Give us a call today to schedule your appointment!

Q: What should I do if I encounter issues with my system outside regular business hours?

A: Rest assured, we offer 24/7 emergency services to assist you whenever problems arise. The number to contact us for emergencies is 866-927-1156.

Q: WHAT DOES THE OPENING OF MY SEPTIC tank LOOK LIKE?

A: The opening of septic tanks can vary in size, shape, and material. The most common types are fiberglass and concrete. Usually, the size can vary from 12 to 24 inch radius. A lot of people mistake the “Clean Out” as the septic lid. The “Clean Out” is about a 4-inch radius with a little cap on it. This does not give you direct access to the septic tank. Below are some examples..
